Rizal Residents get health insurance

YNARES Center, Antipolo, Rizal – Close to 35,000 Rizaleños who belong to the
province’s marginalized sector received PhilHealth cards as part of the provincial
government’s program to increase its people’s access to quality health services.

Through the program, a larger number of people, particularly of the poorest of the
poor, were provided with wider access to medical services and avail discounted
hospitalization rates to PhilHealth accredited hospital institutions.

Rizal Gov. Ynares has likewise initiated the health insurance coverage of barangay
health workers and farmers under the local government unit (LGU) sponsored
program.

Aside from health cards, part of the provincial government’s health agenda is the
regular conduct of medical and dental missions and distribution of free medicines
particularly in identified poverty-stricken areas of the province.

Recently, the newly renovated Rizal Provincial Hospital – Angono Annex (formerly
Angono General Hospital) was also opened to public to provide constituents better
medical services through its improved facilities and infrastructure.

“All of these recent efforts by the provincial government were realized because of our
common desire towards a better, healthier and safer community. Rest assured that
the local government will continue finding ways to help our people, particularly the
poor,” Ynares said.
