YNARES Center, Antipolo, Rizal – Rizal Gov. Jun Ynares distributed recently scholarship certificates to some 866 incoming college freshmen who qualified for scholarship grants under the Rizal College Scholarship Program and Student Assistance Program held recently in this state-of-the-art sports and events facility.

The new college scholars for this school year increased the total number to 6,029 scholars. Full scholars will each receive Php 10,000 per academic period or semester while those who did not qualify for full scholarship will each receive a student assistance of Php 2,500 per academic period/semester. The stipend shall cover tuition fees and other school expenses.

Meanwhile, the scholarship program dubbed as “Iskolar ni Gob” has extended its coverage to include those in the technical-vocational courses, masteral and doctoral degrees for both students and public school teachers, and post-college scholarships for medicine and law students.

“Quality education has been our priority because we want Rizaleños to be competitive globally. We want our province to become a reservoir of educated and well-developed human resources,” Gov. Ynares remarked.
