YNARES PLAZA, Binangonan, Rizal – Bilang agarang tugon sa panawagan ng Department of Health (DOH) para sa mas maraming donasyon ng dugo, ang pamahalaang panlalawigan ng Rizal, sa pamumuno ni Rizal Gob. Jun Ynares ay nagsagawa kamakailan ng isang medical-dental mission na tinawag na “Sagip-Buhay” upang makakolekta ng donasyong dugo para sa mga nangangailangang biktima ng dengue sa lalawigan.
Ang isa sa pinakatampok na mga gawain sa mga serbisyong panlipunan at pang-medikal, kasama ang libreng salamin sa mata, anti-rabies vaccination para sa mga alagang hayop at reflexology, ay ang donasyon at pamamahagi ng may 60 wheelchairs para sa mga mahihirap na taong may kapansanan mula sa Taiwan Association (Phil.) Inc. na kinabibilangan ng mga opisyal ng Taiwan Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) sa pamumuno ni ambassador Donald Lee, TAI president Wayne Chi at TAI secretary general Randy Chen.
Samantala, sa isang ulat mula sa Center for Health and Development (CHD) Region IV-A, may 1,777 kaso ng dengue ang naitala na sa lalawigan ng Rizal mula Enero hanggang unang linggo ng Agosto ng taong kasalukuyan. Sa mga kasong ito, ang Antipolo ay may 477 kaso ng dengue, habang ang bayan ng Cainta ay may 286 na kaso, at ang Binangonan at Montalban ay may parehong tig-225 na kaso.
May kabuuang siyam ang namatay dahil sa dengue sa lalawigan kung saan ang Antipolo ang nakapagtala ng may pinakamaraming bilang ng namatay na apat na katao.
Ayon kay Gob. Ynares, ipinag-utos na niya sa Provincial Health Office ang agarang pagsasagawa ng mga hakbangin upang maiwasan at ma-kontrol ang epekto ng dengue virus, partikular sa mga barangay na may mataas na naiulat na kaso ng dengue.
“Nais naming ipabatid sa aming mga kalalawigan na ang inyong pamahalaan ay hindi tumitigil sa paglaban sa dengue virus. Pinag-ibayo na natin ang pagpapakalat ng mga tamang impormasyon sa pamamagitan ng ating mga opisyal ng barangay, na sa tingin namin ay pangunahing paraan upang mapagtagumpayan natin ang ating laban sa dengue virus,” pahayag ni Gob. Ynares.
Nanawagan din si Gob. Ynares sa publiko na laging gawin ang DOH’s 4S Strategy laban sa salot na dengue: search and destroy; self protection measures; seek early consultation; and say no to indiscriminate fogging, na ayon sa punong lalawigan ay mga epektibong paraan upang masugpo ang pagkalat ng sakit na ito.

Rizal gov’t, PHILSSA conduct disaster forum
PROVINCIAL Capitol, Antipolo, Rizal – The Rizal provincial government, through its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) chaired by Gov. Jun Ynares, partnered with the Partnership of Philippine Support Service Agencies, Inc. (PHILSSA), a non-governmental organization, in the recent conduct of a discussion-forum on disaster preparedness participated in by association of barangay captains (ABCs) presidents of nine (9) Rizal lakeshore towns including San Mateo and Montalban, fisherfolks, members of fishery and aquatic resources management councils (FARMCs), and people’s organizations (POs) in the said areas.
The forum discussed issues and concerns on the implementation of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010 (R.A. 10121) in the provincial, municipal and barangay levels; lessons learned and gaps identified from the review of the Hyogo, Yokohama strategy; and the disaster risk reduction and management plans and programs of local government units (LGUs) and Aksyon sa Kahandaan sa Kalamidad at Klima (AKKMA).
The workshop outputs on the assessment of local disaster risk reduction and management (LDRRM) plans identifying strengths and weaknesses and recommending short and long-term solutions, are expected to be submitted to Rizal Gov. Jun Ynares by the end of August this year.
Meanwhile, the Rizal provincial disaster risk reduction and management council (PDRRMC) recently held its third regular meeting where council members were updated on the approved PDRRM plan and budget. Rizal PDRRMC vice-chair, vice-governor Frisco San Juan, Jr. and PDRRM officer Loel Malonzo, reported on the progress of the council’s programs and activities to enhance and strengthen its capabilities, equipment, resources and linkages in compliance with the provisions of R.A. 10121.
